Braving Rain and Snow to Forge the Optical Path: Fiber Optic Monitoring System Installation Completed for "Heat Transmission to Shangqiu" Long-Distance Pipeline Network
Publication Date:December 29, 2025

Under the winter sun, a 37.2-kilometer winding "energy artery" across the eastern Henan plains is ready to spring into action. Recently, good news arrived from the Shangqiu City "Heat Transmission to Shangqiu" Long-Distance Pipeline Network Project: the optical fiber pipeline monitoring system, constructed by Beijing Dean Consor Technology Development Co., Ltd., has been completed as scheduled. As a key livelihood project in Shangqiu City, the "Heat Transmission to Shangqiu" long-distance pipeline network carries the warmth expectations of thousands of households. The pipeline spans 37.2 kilometers with a diameter of DN1200, making it one of the larger long-distance heating pipeline projects in eastern Henan. Its construction path can be described as "navigating numerous obstacles"—not only did it have to cross multiple rivers, national highways, and urban main roads, but it also had to pass through the geologically complex Old Yellow River Levee area. The varied terrain, intersecting underground pipelines, and numerous coordination challenges posed significant difficulties for construction. Especially under tight deadlines, the construction period also encountered multiple rounds of rainfall and snowfall. Muddy worksites and low-temperature frozen trenches further intensified the construction challenges, making the timely completion of the monitoring system installation a critical hurdle for project advancement. Since officially commencing work at the end of August 2025, Beijing Dean Consor Technology Development Co., Ltd. formed a dedicated攻坚 team to tackle these multiple challenges head-on. To address the variable geological conditions, technicians optimized the construction plan to ensure construction precision remained uncompromised in waterlogged and low-temperature environments. The team implemented 24-hour shift rotations and coordinated with multiple departments to synchronize the optical cable installation progress with the overall project timeline, ensuring both the precision of the monitoring cable laying and the quality of the project. The installed optical fiber pipeline monitoring system, leveraging high-precision fiber optic sensing technology and an intelligent data analysis platform, enables real-time monitoring of the entire 37.2-kilometer long-distance pipeline network. It accurately detects potential risks such as abnormal temperature fluctuations and unusual vibrations in the surrounding area, providing a scientific basis for pipeline operation and maintenance decisions. The successful installation of this system not only marks a crucial step toward the full operational launch of the "Heat Transmission to Shangqiu" project but also demonstrates Beijing Dean Consor's technical expertise and commitment in the field of long-distance pipeline monitoring.
