Distributed optical fiber temperature sensing system is used as an advanced monitoring means to monitor the temperature during the solidification process of dam concrete. Dam temperature tracer leakage monitoring, dam stress displacement and deformation monitoring have shown obvious advantages over traditional monitoring methods, and are being gradually popularized and applied.

    For seepage detection using the temperature tracing method, the distributed temperature sensing system is far more responsive and efficient than conventional piezometric or pressure measurement instruments. The system can accurately identify leakage channels within the dam. When armored cables are heated through electric current, temperature gradients at seepage points are enhanced, improving the system’s ability to pinpoint abnormal leakage zones.
