Distributed fiber optic temperature measurement system, as an advanced monitoring method, is used for temperature monitoring during the solidification process of dam concrete. The work of temperature tracing and leakage monitoring of dams, as well as stress displacement and deformation monitoring of dam bodies, has shown significant advantages over traditional monitoring methods and is gradually being promoted and applied.

The use of distributed fiber optic temperature measurement system to monitor dam leakage (temperature tracing method) is more sensitive and effective than burying pressure measuring tubes and osmometers, greatly improving the probability of discovering leakage channels. If using electrically heated armored optical cables to increase the temperature gradient of leakage monitoring points, it can better improve the resolution of identifying abnormal leakage areas.
