DEAN Technology Showcases Fiber Optic Sensing Systems at Smart Grid Expo 2014

From March 31 to April 2, 2014, DEAN Technology participated in the 4th China International Smart Grid Construction, Distributed Energy and Energy Storage Technology & Equipment Exhibition, held at the China National Convention Center in Beijing. 

At the exhibition, DEAN Technology presented more than ten products across four major product categories, demonstrating its fiber optic sensing and monitoring technologies for power and infrastructure applications.

Four Fiber Optic Sensing and Monitoring Product Categories

The products presented by DEAN Technology at the exhibition included:

Linear Heat Detection System
for continuous heat and fire detection applications;

Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) Sensing System
for fiber optic measurement and structural or equipment monitoring applications;

Long-Range Distributed Fiber Optic Temperature Sensing System
for continuous distributed temperature monitoring over extended distances; and

Fiber Optic Vibration Sensing System for Perimeter Monitoring
for detecting vibration and disturbance events along monitored boundaries.

Fiber Optic Sensing for Power and Infrastructure Monitoring

Fiber optic sensing technologies can provide continuous monitoring across large industrial and infrastructure assets.

Different sensing technologies can be used according to the parameter and application being monitored, including temperature, vibration, strain, deformation, and fire-related temperature changes.

For electric power infrastructure, distributed fiber optic sensing can support applications such as cable temperature monitoring, fire detection, equipment condition monitoring, and other safety and operational monitoring requirements.

Technical Exchange at the Exhibition

During the exhibition, DEAN Technology communicated with industry professionals, technical experts, and visitors about its products and sensing technologies.

The 2014 exhibition provides documented historical evidence that DEAN Technology was already developing multiple categories of fiber optic sensing and monitoring systems at that time.
