DEAN Technology Distributed Fiber Optic Linear Heat Detector Receives Type Test Report
Publication Date:February 15, 2016

On January 22, 2016, DEAN Technology's JTW-XOM-DSCDTS-P Distributed Fiber Optic Linear Heat Detector received a type test report from China's National Fire Electronic Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Center.

Type Testing for the Distributed Fiber Optic Linear Heat Detector

The type test report represents an important product testing milestone for the JTW-XOM-DSCDTS-P Distributed Fiber Optic Linear Heat Detector.

Designed for continuous temperature monitoring and fire detection along extended areas, distributed fiber optic linear heat detection uses optical fiber as a sensing medium to monitor temperature conditions along the protected route.

This type of monitoring approach is particularly suited to infrastructure and industrial environments where conventional point-based fire detection may not provide continuous coverage over long distances.

Distributed Fiber Optic Linear Heat Detection

Distributed fiber optic sensing enables temperature conditions to be monitored continuously along an optical fiber.

For fire detection applications, abnormal temperature conditions can be identified and localized along the monitored route, supporting early investigation and response.

Fiber optic sensing also offers advantages for applications involving long distances, large monitoring areas, or environments where electrical sensing equipment may present installation or operational limitations.

A Documented Product Testing Milestone

The January 2016 type test provides documented evidence of DEAN Technology's development of distributed fiber optic linear heat detection technology and specifically identifies the JTW-XOM-DSCDTS-P product model.

Later in 2016, DEAN Technology also reported that its Distributed Fiber Optic Linear Heat Detector had obtained China's compulsory product certification, representing a further milestone in the product's testing and certification history.
